The 2019-20 Young Authors’ Contest is underway! YAC is an annual contest sponsored by the State of Maryland Literacy Association. Each year, students at Oakdale High School are encouraged to participate in the Young Authors’ Contest by submitting poetry and short story entries for a chance to win. This is also a great opportunity for students’ creative writing skills to shine and, if a student  becomes a county or state winner, this is quite an honor to brag about on any future college or scholarship applications! We have had several state winners in the past–let’s continue to REPRESENT!

For additional details and guidelines, students must join the official YAC Google Classroom with code: y99x5e or visit/email Ms. Owen ([email protected]) in the Library Media Center. Deadline for all submissions is Monday, November 18, 2019.
