Oakdale’s Safe & Safe will be taking place the night of June 5th, 2015 at PNC Arena at Mt. St. Mary’s, after graduation for the senior class. For that to happen, Safe & Sane will continue to hold fundraising at Chipotle where 50% of the sales go towards funds on March 23rd from 5-8 PM.

Tracy Ray, head of the Safe & Sane committee, also gave a glimpse into what will be held the night of Safe & Sane.

“We are planning on having a cover band open the night, as well as casino games and prizes. There will also be a cash vault money machine, dodgeball, volleyball, soccer, and basketball tournaments, as well as a photo booth, food and drinks all night long, over 100 raffle prizes, giveaways for all attendees, and tons of fun inflatable games like a mechanical bull ride, bungee run, and a go-racer.” She also adds, “The committee is also open to suggestions for events!”

Many students find that it is an event not worth attending; however, it is a night that the entire senior class is together one last time as graduated alumni of Oakdale. For those who are unsure of attending Safe & Sane, Ray shares her thoughts about the benefits of what Safe & Sane is truly about, beneath all of the fun prizes and events taking place.

“It’s an opportunity for them to celebrate their graduation together as a class one last time, in an environment that will allow for a lot of fun,” Ray said, “but will also make sure that everyone who attends is safe and gets home the next day ready to start the next phase of their life’s journey!”

Safe & Sane has been in Frederick County for a while, and since then there have been no deaths on graduation night for schools who host the program. Our graduates in 2013 had 170 attendees, while last year, the senior class brought 270 students out of the 299 that graduated.

If you’re interested in getting a ticket for the event, they will go on sale at the end of March, and into April, and will be valued at $50 each. The committee is hoping that the fundraising efforts will make this the best Safe & Sane that Oakdale has ever had.PawPrintAd SafeandSane Feb15 (1)
