The JV and Varsity Girls Basketball teams continue to pile up the wins, the JV team beat both Middletown and Smithsburg to improve to 6-1 on the year.  Sam Blaylock and Olivia Van Scoyoc scored double figures in the win over Middletown, while Gabby Averill and Olivia scored double digits in the win over Smithsburg.  The Varsity girls won both their Holiday Tournament games over break, then they came out strong in a division showdown vs. Middletown and pulled out a 60-59 victory.  The Bears continued their team play, as multiple players contributed to the scoring column, led by Sam Foster, Brianna Walker and Tiana Jackson all with 10 points.  Sami Hardesty and Rylee Schwee each scored 8 points.  The girls then traveled to Smithsburg the next night and won a tough match 44-42.  Brianna Walker scored 8 of her 15 points in the fourth quarter, and Tiana Jackson scored 10 points for the Bears as they improved to 9-0 on the year.  Aubrey Austin had 7 points and 6 rebounds in the contest as well. The girls play at home Tuesday this week and next week!

National English Honor Society requires a 3.5 GPA in English courses and at least 3 credits of English completed. If you are eligible, NEHS applications are available online through the OHS website under Special Content Honor Societies and in hard copy from Mrs. Cole in room A211. They are due by January 28th at 230pm to Mrs. Cole.

Attention all Polar  Plungers! All Forms and donations are due.  Please drop them off at Mrs. Harrison’s and Mrs. O’s office asap!  There are only 13 days until you are taking the plunge!

Just a reminder that there is no SET next week. We’ll be back on the air on Wednesday, January 23. Good luck to our PARCC testers as well as our HSA and MISA testers next week.

The OHS Ice Hockey Bears take on the West Virginia Vipers tonight! The puck drops at 7:45pm. Bring a blanket and come out to Skate Frederick. Cheer your Bears on to a win!

Mock Trial won their first trial of the season on Wednesday night against Tuscarora 45-39! Congratulations.
