Come visit New York City’s Rockville Center Tree to see it light up

With Christmas coming soon New York City is becoming crowded with the joy and activities to do during the holiday season. If you think the Big Apple is bright and busy throughout the year, it becomes twice as bright and crowded during Christmas time.

There are multiple activities in New York City starting off with visiting the Rockville Center Tree. This tree is a holiday tradition that many tourists love to visit as it brings lots of visitors to New York City. \ There are 50,000 shiny multicolored lights wrapped around this bright tree. If that isn’t enough, The 80 feet tall tree stands right in front of  the rink at the Rockefeller Center. Senior Emma Dees, states, “I loved taking pictures by the tree and drinking hot chocolate with my friends in front of the tree.”

Shopping in a huge city with many people isn’t a problem where everywhere you look there’s some sort of store whether it’s clothes or toys. The Big Apple is filled with many shopping centers, and not just any shopping centers, but huge shopping centers with escalators leading to multiple floors. Dees mentions, “Mainly just going shopping in Times Square, shopping in stores that I don’t have in my home area and going to cool restaurants are my favorite things to do there.”

The Empire State Building is definitely a great spot to visit. It’s the tallest building in New York City with 103 floors with the 103rd floor being restricted and for VIPS only. Other floors like  the 86th floor have an observatory and on the 102nd floor is the observation deck. There are also exhibits, restaurants, and gift shops inside the Empire State Building as if the view itself isn’t enough to visit.

Senior Natalee Doyal from Century High explains, “It was such a cool view when I went, it was during the sunset and it was very pretty.” If you go to New York City, it is definitely recommended to visit the Empire State Building.

Additional activities to do in New York City during the holiday season is visit to eat or drink at Manhattan’s most Christmas and spirited restaurant “Rolfs”. For the Christmas lover, Rolfs is for you. The restaurant is decked out in lights with decor hanging all around you. The restaurant serves German food, but there is also a menu for the children with more American food items. The restaurant is fun and cool to visit for all ages.

New York City is a very exciting and jolly place to take a visit during the holidays. Despite the price and the crowd, it is worth it and has many attractions while exploring many different things.
