The last month has been a big and exciting month for Future and Metro Boomin fans. On March 22, Future and Metro Boomin came out with an album called, We Don’t Trust You. A few weeks later, on April 12, they had released their second collaborative album, We Still Don’t Trust You. Even though this album was only released 3 weeks later it’s not a deluxe or extended version of the first one; it is considered “part 2.”
We Still Don’t Trust You consists of 25 songs, and is 1 hour and 28 minutes long. There are a number of hits on this album that have quickly become favorites for many.
“My favorite song was probably ‘All to Myself’ because it’s relatable and it’s more slow-paced instead of fast unlike most of his songs,” freshman Allie Gugs explained.
For most, both this album and this collaboration were very long-awaited. We Still Don’t Trust You focuses a lot on the struggles and drama within the rap community. This is very different from what Future has put out before.
“All of his albums are good, but I feel like this is showing how he still doesn’t trust even after everything.” Gugs shared.
“It was a very high-effort album, and Metro’s amazing production added a lot more to it,” stated Sophomore Nayja Njenga.
The collaboration between Future and Metro Boomin hooked fans even more. In the following songs, you can tell they both reflect on the pressure of fame, successes, and maintaining authenticity when putting out music.
Now the big question is; did these two artists collaborating together make this album better or worse? “It definitely makes the album better. Future has worked with him before, but I think it makes it more unique and full of more surprises,” voices Njenga.
Overall, it’s obvious that fans fell in love with this album and that it was definitely worth the hype. Fans will keep their eyes out for more possible collaborations in the future!
