The long awaited premiere for the second season of Riverdale finally came to your televisions on Wednesday, October 11.

Only four episodes into the second season, Riverdale has returned red-hot, doubling its viewership from the first season.

Riverdale is extremely popular among Oakdale students and staff. Oakdale sophomore Lindsey Edwards stated, “I saw it on Twitter and then started watching it when it came out on Netflix.”

Netflix seems to be the most popular form of watching the new show, at least for season one.

Oakdale Middle School teacher Mrs. Amy Garlitz also began watching Riverdale when it aired on Netflix. Netflix has done a wonderful job of promoting the show and encouraging fans to watch the new episodes as they air on the CW channel.

If fans are not able to watch Riverdale as the new episodes premiere at 8pm on Wednesday nights, the CW Network has a website that anyone can use to catch up on the episodes they missed. The second season of Riverdale has not been added on Netflix, but it is likely that it will be uploaded once it comes to an end.

“I usually watch it on the CW website or On Demand,” stated Mrs. Garlitz.

“I watched season one on Netflix and am watching season two as it airs on TV,” claimed Edwards.

The four main characters in Riverdale are Archie Andrews, Betty Cooper, Jughead Jones, and Veronica Lodge. Many Riverdale supporters enjoy choosing a favorite couple.

The show is based off of the Archie Comics which were made in the early 1940s, and of course, Riverdale fans have their favorite characters.

“Jughead is probably my favorite character because I love the actor who plays him,” mentioned Edwards.

Jughead Jones is portrayed by Cole Sprouse, who found his way to fame through the Disney Channel with shows like The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and The Suite Life on Deck.

“Jughead [is my favorite character]  because he is fun and I love his comments. I love how he makes you laugh in a serious situation. He is wise beyond his years,” claimed Mrs. Garlitz.

“[My favorite couple is] Betty and Jughead because they are both my favorite characters so when they are together it just makes the show better,” explained Edwards.

“[My favorite part of the show is the] mystery; being able to try and solve the crime. They do a  nice job of presenting the mystery, giving you clues along the way, and also the connections with the characters are great,” stated Mrs. Garlitz.

On a ranking scale of 1-5 (5 being the highest), Edwards ranked it a “5, because I have never been bored while watching this show, and recommend it to everyone.”

Mrs. Garlitz ranked it as a 4.5 because she has seen some shows that are better, but enjoys it very much.

So if you are in need of a show to watch, be sure to check out Riverdale on Netflix, On Demand, of the CW website!
