Mega-Man’s Return

The year is 1987, the Nintendo Entertainment System is a major success. Companies all over the world are trying to find their one game that would bring them to fame, so on December 17, the gaming company Capcom released Mega-Man. This game became very popular almost immediately, due to Mega-Man looking completely different than he did in the actual game.
In the game the player is in the perspective Mega-Man, battling against six robot masters: Cutman, Gutsman, Iceman, Bombman, Fireman, and Elecman. Once each robot master has been defeated, Mega-Man must go and challenge the evil Dr. Wily. The game’s success was because of the mix of platformer, side-scrolling, and a shooter.
With the games extreme popularity, it has acquired many sequels and spin-off games, but after Mega-Man 10 the original Mega-Man has seemed to vanish.
When asked why he thought why the game was such a success, sophomore, Robert Walsh explained, “The way the game play was done and the beautiful colored background.”
Skip ahead to December 17, 2017, and it’s the 30th anniversary of Mega-Man. People all over watch as Capcom goes through the years of Mega-Man, thinking all they are going to get is just another lousy video commemorating Mega-Man. To their surprise, they see something else – Capcom releasing a trailer for Mega-Man 11.
Long time fans all over the world were going insane: the return of the original Mega-Man. The game is set to be released in late 2018 for Playstation 4, Xbox one, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Mega-Man’s been gone for 10 years since his last installment. Nobody expected the company to make such a major announcement. People were thinking he would never have his own game again.
Walsh stated, regarding the new update, “Yes, because of how much we have advanced in technology and that the 3D graphics look really cool.”
Capcom shocked the world, and their most famous character had returned after nobody thought they would bring him back. Mega-man was a famous character and it’s time for his big return. People are ecstatic to know that Capcom still cares about their character. It’s time for Mega-Man’s return.
