Metro Boomin’s long-awaited new album, Heroes & Villains has finally arrived. The album was released on December 2, 2022. This album features many popular artists, such as Don Toliver, 21 Savage, and many more. Fans have never been more excited to take a listen!

The album is made up of songs that conclude the rapper’s previous work, “Not All Heroes Wear Capes.” He ingeniously incorporated a way to pay tribute to his mother, who was shot and killed earlier this year.

Heroes & Villains is a 15-track album that features mainstream songs such as “On Time,” “Superhero,” fan favorite “Creepin’,” and many more. The majority of these songs cleverly incorporate different parts of the rapper’s life and connect them with his present self.

Sophomore Mikayla Sando and Senior Alex Llamas both agree that this album should be featured as a soundtrack in movies. Llamas says, “I wasn’t expecting the movie production quality; it sounded like something straight out of the soundtrack of the movie.”

I would like to see him work on music or a playlist for a superhero movie because the storytelling in his album was amazing

Sando adds, “I would like to see him work on music or a playlist for a superhero movie because the storytelling in his album was amazing.”

Both students are impressed by how diverse and well-thought-out the lyrics on this album are. They see the vision for these songs being added to an upcoming superhero or action movie.

Continuing on with that thought, senior Cindy Ventura remarks, “This album has more diversity compared to his other albums, especially since it has so many different artists, and I feel like their voices, I guess, kind of helped Metro’s voice shine.”

Ventura takes a particular liking to the song “Walk Em Down,” since she sees Metro’s voice and talent really shining through with the help of 21 Savage’s voice.

Many of the overall listeners believe the album was incredibly great. They are extremely pleased with the outcome and love the majority of the songs. Llamas specifically builds on his thoughts by saying the album was “9 out of 10; it’s pretty good, I like the production quality, and I like the transitions between songs; they are really smooth and really good.”

It is quite clear that everyone who gave the album a listen is very satisfied with the outcome. Fans are excited to see what the rapper has to bring for his upcoming works, and cannot wait to give those a listen as well.
