So far, in the 2023-2024 school year, Oakdale High School has been very lucky to  welcome many new teachers! One of them, joining us, is Mrs.Catalina Chiquillo! Right now, she is a substitute for classes in need of teachers. Chiquillo has been at Oakdale since the beginning of the school year, and she is looking forward to helping kids and making a difference.

One of the reasons Mrs. Chiquillo joined Oakdale to teach is because two of her children go to school here. She states something she found admirable about Oakdale is “most students at Oakdale are very respectful and proud of their work and want to do their best job.” This is a fact that has helped Oakdale become a Blue Ribbon school and has brought many new teachers here.

Sophomore Carly Jacobs shares her thoughts about Mrs. Chiquillo long-term subbing in her honors government class as a replacement for Mrs. Carmen: “I’ve only ever had one other long-term substitute, but I think Ms. Chiquillo is able to actually teach the subject and help me rather than just kind of  throw assignments in my face like other substitutes I have had.”

Overall, Oakdale High School is very fortunate to have Mrs. Chiquillo as a new teacher because she helps educate many lucky students. Here at Oakdale High School, staff and students are looking forward to having Mrs. Chiqillo teach full-time in the future with her caring attitude and love for teaching!
