Mario is a well-known character, loved by the world. He is one of the most used video-game characters in games such as Super Mario, Mario Party, Mario Kart, and Super Smash Bros. Mario serves as the poster boy for Nintendo games. Today we’ll be looking at the 5 newest games.

Super Mario Maker (2015)- This is a game that lets players use their creativity to make new levels. Many love this game because it allows them to make a level as hard or as difficult as they want. This game has made many youtube channels that are just about making or playing other peoples levels. Super Mario Maker was one of the most well received games in 2015 because of the freedom it gives users.

Super Mario Odyssey (2017)- Arguably one of the best Mario games to ever release, Odyssey is an immersive, open world game that takes full advantage of the Nintendo Switch features. The goal of the game is to collect power moons for Mario’s airship, the Odyssey. One of the most interesting things about this game is that every Kingdom has no end. There are a total of 999 power moons in the game, most of which are collected after the main storyline. When it comes to collecting the moons, challenges can range from hidden mazes to defeating an enormous dragon. Out of all the Mario games, Super Mario Odyssey will not only take the longest to complete, but it will keep you coming back regularly.  

Super Mario Maker 2 (2019)- Now with 2.5D levels, the sequel to Super Mario Maker has new power ups, level themes, and more playable characters. After Undodog accidentally sets a Reset Rocket flying towards Princess Peachs’ newly built castle, Mario needs to complete courses to earn coins so the Toads can rebuild. If not in story mode, you can make levels and play levels other players from across the world have made. 

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury (2021)- The level select is the same as Super Mario Land, but the story isn’t just save the princess the player has to save fairies and its multiplayer. The game brings back many elements from older games. Bowser’s Fury is an open world Mario 3d world add-on. In the game players explore a world affected by a mysterious goo and bowser that has grown and become overcome with evil.

Super Mario Bros Wonder(2023)- Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Princess Daisy, Yellow Toad, Blue Toad, and Toadette are all invited to the Flower Kingdom to meet with Prince Floran. As Floran shows the group the Wonder Flower, Bowser swoops in and steals it, and turns the Floran Castle into Castle Bowser. Mario and his friends offer to help Floran save Flower Kingdom. This game is a familiar addition to the 2.5D Mario games, with fun new twists. With 8 playable characters and new power ups, Super Mario Bros Wonder is a great adventure for friends and family.

With Nintendo giving us 46 years of gaming content, they continue to give us amazing games. Mario is a gift that keeps on giving. These games gave many amazing childhood memories that many people are really grateful for.
