10/29

This is just a friendly reminder that Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society applications are due today to Ms. Ehrlich in B205 by 2:25 pm.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, FCPS is honoring the survivors and victims with their PINK OUT on October 30. Let’s wear our Pink tomorrow!

The Boys Cross Country team won the County Championship Thursday Oct 25.  They blew away all other team with all the Varsity runners running their first mile below 5 minutes knowing they had another 2 miles do go.  Kyle Lund was the individual winner beating the county favorite by over 10 seconds. Way to go Kyle!! Collin Dempsey was 3rd after being out for about 6 weeks due to injury.  Collin showed great strength and fortitude at the meet and throughout the season. Big shout out to Collin Shriner for out sprinting a Linganore runner. Josh Milliken, Charles Parrot, Nick Stokes, and Spencer Buckwalter all finished in the top 17!  This team just plain ROCKS!!!

JV also won their meet.  Bringing home the County sweep!  Evan Schaefer was the Champion of the race with Zack Watkins coming in close behind.  OHS had 6 runners in the top 10 which included Lucas Shortridge, Nick Raumann, Will Gregorio, and Larry Kemp.  These guys could run Varsity at any other school and their hard work is appreciated!

Boys’ and Girls’ Soccer playoffs – TOMORROW at HOME at 530 and 7

Field Hockey plays TONIGHT against Linganore. Be sure to show out and support our Lady Birds.

This week is the last week of the food drive.  Please continue to bring in non-perishable food items like pasta, cereal, and canned goods to support the drive as 1 in 7 students in Maryland Public Schools are not sure that they will have 3 meals to eat a day.  Items like cake and brownie mixes and frosting are also appreciated because many homeless students are not able to celebrate their birthdays because they do not have access to these items.
