Homecoming is fast approaching and it’s time to start nominating students for homecoming court. Use the QR code on the flyers and posters around the school to nominate the students you want on our court! 

There is a meeting for current members of the Science National Honor Society in Mrs. Adams room Friday 10/4 during SET. Please plan on attending. If you are unable to attend, please touch base with Mrs. Adams sometime before the end of the day Friday. 

The Oakdale Math Honors Society members are urged to visit the Schoology group for information about an opportunity to compete in a math competition that involves the possibility of winning scholarship money for the University of Maryland.  See Ms. Watson in A203 to sign up and for more information!

Great job to the Boys Cross Country team for bringing home the double win at the Crossfire invite for both JV and Varsity!!  Our top Varsity runners were Kyle Lund, Collin Dempsey, Spencer Buckwalter, Josh Milliken, Charles Parrott, Justin Cherry, and Nick Raumann who all were able to stand on the podium and get a medal!  7 in the top 15 with over 100 runners. Great job guys! On the JV side: Aby Mudireddy came in 9thin a field of over 250! Great feat for a freshman topping out so many seniors and juniors! Topping off the top 7 also included Reed Fliegel, Liam McGinchey, Ryan Brightman, Nicholas Redman, Shiv Anderson, and Ibrahim Thangalvadi.  These guys also all got in the top 15. Great day to be a Bear! Big shout out to Collin Dempsey! You were a shining light for a running for another team! Thank you and Go Bears

Oakdale district champs with the lowest score in oakdale history with 296. Del grieser shot a 71 and won men’s champ and elizabeth tucci won ladies champ with a score of 71 as well. Michael hollman shot a 82, Chris lee with 72, and riley barth with 106.

Attention Juniors and Seniors: The Rho Kappa Social Studies Honors Society is accepting applications through Nov 1st. You may apply if you have completed at least 4 social studies courses and intend to complete a total of six social studies classes by graduation. You must have a minimum of a 3.0 unweighted GPA with a 3.5 in social studies courses. Applications are available outside of of Mrs. Kenney’s classroom (A207) or Mrs. Smith’s classroom (A201) starting Monday Oct 4th. 

 

The Oakdale Girls Cross Country Team ran this Tuesday at Liberty High School at the Crossfire Invitational against a competitive field. The lady bears scored 2nd in their division and 5th overall. Among the bears, leading scorers were Aubrey Schaffer, who was 2nd in their division and 4th overall, Caylin Walker who was 5th in their division and 18th overall, Zhana Ivanova, who was 11th in their division and 34th overall and Hailey Halenberg and Karina Turner who were 15th and 26th in their division, and 42nd and 66th overall respectively. Congratulations to our lady bears on a strong performance, and good luck to them as they head to the Cougar Challenge this Saturday at Catoctin High School. 

 

The JV and Varsity Girls Soccer teams play Walkersville away tonight at 5:30 and 7:00pm.  Come out the support!

 

The Volleyball team has a home game tonight against Walkersville.  JV is at 5:45, and varsity is at 7. Come out and help us defend the den!
