Marcus Pearson

This week’s student of the week is Marleigh Beck.  Marleigh was nominated by Mr. Welch because in his eyes, she is a model Bear. She is helpful, studious and always respectful. She has been the expeditor for the Muffin club.   Marleigh is precise, very meticulous and ensures all the orders are filled as requested. As this week’s students of the week, Marleigh will receive a Bear Claw cookie from Ms. Clabaugh, her picture on Main Street, one free admission to an Oakdale High School event.  Way to go Marleigh!

Oakdale High School has been chosen to participate with three other FCPS high schools in the Student Voices Program for the 2018-2019 school year.  The first meeting for this program will be at Oakdale High School on November 28. As part of the program, students will also participate in a county wide forum with other high schools and may be able to shadow a fellow FCPS student at their school.  If you were nominated for this program by an OHS staff member, you will be called to the office for your permission form and information no later than Monday, November 19. Permission forms are due back to Mrs. Harding and Ms. Clabaugh by Tuesday, November 27.  If you were not nominated, but this sounds like an opportunity you would like, please see Ms. Clabaugh for more information.

Sign ups are now available for the stress management seminar during lunch on Wednesday, November 28th. Students will identify common stressors and destressors and learn that stress affects everyone. Then, they will learn a relaxation technique to use when stressed. Pizza will be served as well.
