4/10

This week’s student of the week is Haran Nadarajah.  Haran was nominated by multiple staff members because Haran takes a broad interest in many content areas. He wanted to take National and Global Issues course, but could not because he also needed to take AP Chemistry, a year-long course. So that he could still learn and participate in National and Global Issues, he asked if he could participate in class during his lunch. He listened attentively and contributed to discussion on environmental policy issues. He volunteers for Mrs. Mehl’s tutoring sessions and Mrs. Adams’ PreAP Chemistry tutoring sessions. He is a captain on the Track and Field team and is an awesome role model for the younger athletes. He listens to their needs on a regular basis and even helps them with specific technical issues they are having in their event. The team, his coaches, and teachers will greatly miss him when he graduates. As this week’s Student of the Week, Haran will receive a cookie from Ms. Clabaugh and one free admission ticket to an Oakdale High School event.  Way to go Haran!
