This week’s student of the week is Lucas Trigger.  Lucas was nominated by Mr. Rubin because Lucas has done a tremendous job both as an SSL in our Physical education Department and in Strength Training class. Lucas assists every morning in class set up, being intrinsically motivated to get class started. He assists every teacher in our department when a substitute is required, basically serving as another instructor. He has truly been an asset this term. He additionally volunteers his time to work at home games.  As this week’s Student of the Week, Lucas will receive a coupon for one free admission ticket to an Oakdale High School event. Way to go Lucas!

1 in 9 students in Maryland’s public schools do not know if they will have food to eat when they get home from school and Marylanders miss more than 100 million meals a year.  Oakdale High School will be conducting a food drive from October 1st to November 1st to help those in need. Please bring donations of non-perishable food items to your first period class.  The class that brings in the most donations will win a breakfast. If your first period class is not participating in the food drive, you may drop off your donations with Ms. Porter in Room A225.
