Reports have confirmed that the source codes for popular Nintendo consoles such as the Nintendo 64, Nintendo GameCube, and the Nintendo Wii have been stolen and leaked online from a server breach. Knowing how vast and expansive the internet is if this data falls into the wrong person’s hand a lot of personal data could be extracted. While Nintendo has been hacked before, in fact no less than two weeks ago, where over 160,000 Nintendo Switch accounts were taken. Nintendo closed the Network in which the security breach appeared so no credit cards were stolen in the processes. Yet 160 thousand birthdays, emails, and genders were stolen which could cause some harm to the people affected. Rumors for the most recent breach blame the company Nintendo worked with for the majority of the development of the Wii and its software. The information will most likely just be used by the gaming community to emulate old games on their machines, which can already be done, but most likely more efficiently now. Yet this is much more a message to Nintendo to up there defenses in this new age of hacking, as hackers evolve their ways of obtaining data.

May is Mental Health Month! Each year millions of Americans face the reality of living with a mental illness; nearly 450 million people worldwide are currently living with a mental illness, and 1 in 5 people will experience a mental illness during their lifetime; yet nearly two thirds of people with a known mental illness never seek treatment. Everyone faces challenges in life that can impact their mental health.

Mental Health America has put together a toolkit, called Tools 2 Thrive. This kit includes links to fast facts and tips for success on certain topics; such as finding the positive and creating healthy routines, in addition to social media and web components; like Shareable Images for Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Find the Tool Kit at the link shown. https://mhanational.org/mental-health-month

National Alliance on Mental Illness joins the national movement to raise awareness about mental health. NAMI fights stigma, provides support, educates the public and advocates for policies that support people with mental illness and their families. Their “You are Not Alone” campaign features the lived experience of people affected by mental illness to fight stigma, inspire others and educate the public.

Now more than ever before, it is important for the mental health community to come together and show the world that no one should ever feel alone.
