As streaming platforms compete to dominate the entertainment landscape, one show has captured the hearts of viewers worldwide: Bridgerton. In the latest installment of Netflix’s smash-hit series, viewers are treated to an exploration of love, betrayal and redemption.
At the heart of this new season is the blossoming relationship between Colin Bridgerton- the third Bridgerton sibling- and Penolope Featherington- the quiet wallflower of the Featherington household.
“Penelope underwent the most character development from the past seasons because this [new] season really highlights her becoming more confident,” Sophomore Breeze Kim shared.
Visually in this new season, Bridgerton continues to dazzle audiences with its lavish costumes, set designs, and breathtaking choreography. Whether it’s a romantic rendezvous or a lavish society ball teeming with intrigue, Bridgerton transports audiences back in time to a world of elegance and excess, where every moment is filled with passion and drama.
“I like that it has modern elements in the music and the casting. I feel like the costume and makeup is more modern. It’s a really good mix of modern and period,” elaborated Sophomore Mikayla Sando.
As members of London’s elite, Colin and Penelope must navigate the intricate web of social conventions and familial obligations that threaten to keep them apart. Despite the pressures of society and the disapproval of their peers, the pair embark on a journey of self-discovery and defiance, determined to follow their hearts against all odds.
“I love how Colin and Penelope challenge the norms of their society,” says Kim. “Their love pushes societal expectations, proving that true love knows no bounds.”
One potential drawback of the new season is its pacing and plot complexity. Some viewers may find the storyline to be overly intricate, with many subplots and character arcs. This can sometimes lead to moments of confusion, particularly for viewers who prefer a more straightforward narrative, as presented in the first two seasons.
“I enjoyed the new season of ‘Bridgerton,’ but I found myself struggling to keep up with all the different storylines,” Sando admits, “It felt like there was a lot going on, and I sometimes had trouble following along.”
Although Bridgerton Season 3 has its flaws, it still mesmerizes viewers with its mix of love, drama, and luxury. Even with its imperfections, the show is an essential watch for fans of historical dramas and romantic tales, providing an alluring journey into a realm of forbidden desires and aristocratic mysteries.
