Every year, the state playoffs for the Maryland Student Hockey League (MSHL) take place in late February- early March. In previous years, the winner has usually been a team from the Montgomery Conference, and never Frederick County. This streak has been kept until this year, as the Oakdale Bears became the first Frederick County team to win the title. On March 1, the team defeated the Winston Churchill Bulldogs of the Montgomery Conference 5-3 in a thrilling win.
Senior and team captain, Mason Timberlake hits a Churchill player along the boards early in the first period.
