The Western Frederick Indoor Ensembles, formerly consisting of Tuscarora and Brunswick students, recently connected with Oakdale High School’s indoor color guard.  Reaching the half-way point in their season, the hardworking students have been perfecting their show since December.

The 3-school team is presenting a new show this year, “Love You Better.” It’s a very emotional piece about needing to show care and love to someone before you can’t anymore.

The staff includes  Jason Davis, an instructor with years of experience, who emphasizes the emotional depth and relatable themes. “The dedication and hard work from the students has been commendable,” Davis states.

Similarly, Kacy Stasser, another instructor and Oakdale Middle School visual arts teacher, highlights the importance of precision and emotional expression in their rehearsals. “Creating a supportive environment, fostering teamwork, and emphasizing individual growth are key,” She shares.

Joely Georgiana, a senior member of the ensemble, reveals that her proudest moment was witnessing the team achieve a perfect performance. “Color guard has taught me discipline, teamwork, and the importance of perseverance,” Georgiana voiced.

As the season progresses, the Western Frederick Indoor Guard remains focused on their pursuit of excellence until their final competition on April 6th. With their unwavering commitment and collective passion, they continue to captivate audiences.
