September is National Recovery Month and Frederick County has an initiative called “Frederick Goes Purple” to raise awareness for drug abuse in our county.  OHS is using September as well to raise awareness and educate people about drugs and drug abuse. There is a bulletin board on Main Street in the building with some information about “Frederick Goes Purple” and there will be various announcements throughout the month about drug facts and awareness (particularly opioids).  As a school we will also be promoting Purple Friday on 9/27 by encouraging students to wear purple to school that day to show support for this initiative and the awareness month. We hope that you will also help us support this initiative.

Current members of the National Math Honor Society, please visit the Google Classroom group from last year to access the Schoology Class code to join our group for this year.  Please see Ms. Watson with any questions or concerns in A203. The National Math Honor Society will submit additional announcements in the future for students interested in applying for induction. Tutoring hours start in September so be sure to join Schoology ASAP
