- Sarah Katz, a 21 year-old, University of Pennsylvania student with a heart condition, died after drinking Panera Bread’s “Charged lemonade.” The large drink contains caffeine equivalent to over 4 monster energy drinks. Following her death, Katz’ family filed a lawsuit against Panera Bread, claiming the company didn’t properly inform customers on the ingredients.
- Michigan State Spartans played the Michigan Wolverines on Saturday night. As part of the pre-game quiz, an unnamed Michigan State employee displayed a photo of Hitler and referenced his birthplace on the video boards. The University apologized for the incident and the employee has been placed on payed leave awaiting the results of the investigation.
- 44 year-old pilot, Joseph David Emerson was off-duty when he tried to shut-down the engines, during an Alaska Airlines flight. His attempt was unsuccessful and is now being held “on 83 counts each of attempted murder and reckless endangerment and one count of endangering an aircraft” according to an AP news article.
